BENEFITS OF SCW TENNIS CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Members of the Sun City West Tennis Club enjoy a broad range of benefits designed to support both their love of racquet/paddle sports and their social well-being. Membership grants access to organized play of not only traditional Tennis, but also Red Ball Tennis, Table Tennis and Platform Tennis for an annual fee of $15 per person. This provides great value and ensures a variety of play experiences for enthusiasts of different racquet/paddle sports.

Activities

The club sponsors numerous recreational and competitive activities including organized skill level based weekly round robin play, tournaments, internal team events, regular drop-in play sessions, external leagues with other age-restricted communities and a variety of social gatherings. These structured events foster fun competition and encourage members to improve their skills while enjoying camaraderie with like-minded residents. Four general membership meetings are held annually followed by social hours and subsidized club dinners. Membership meetings and other social events provide regular opportunities for members to connect off the court as well on.

Lessons and Clinics

Members have access to free tennis lessons and clinics provided by Members with teaching credentials from past or current professional careers. Club Members who are advanced level Table Tennis and Platform Tennis players are available to teach newcomers the basics of these paddle tennis sports. All activities are hosted at the RH Johnson Recreation Center offering sixteen well-maintained tennis courts, the only four platform tennis courts in the state of Arizona, and a state-of-the art indoor table tennis facility with four top quality tables.

Community Service

Other notable benefits include the ability to participate in special community service events such as the Phoenix After School Sports (PASS) program and an annual “Swing-Into-Spring” charitable tennis tournament with proceeds being donated to local non-profit entities. Club Members receive periodic newsletters (E-Blasts) with club updates and have the privilege of inviting guests to club activities.
